First Impressions

The packaging is upscale and gorgeous. The thick glass bottles had me at hello.

Wearing “Vendetta” Nail Lakur with Gel Genius Base & Top Coat

I went to a nail salon to get a manicure and pedicure and the manicurist couldn’t stop oohing and aahing over my Londontown products. She was very impressed by them, mentioning a few were new.

In fact, this nail salon actually carries Londontown but if you want to use their products for your nails they charge more than DOUBLE a normal mani/pedi for the service.

They charge more because the quality of Londontown is THAT much better than other common lines like Essie, OPI and even Zoya. The products cost more so it’s a larger investment and they are a higher caliber.

I was astounded and thankful I paid the regular price given I brought the ones Londontown sent me.

Review

The gel base and gel top went on smooth and the thickness is seen and felt.

It took at least 20 minutes to fully dry (under the dryers!) but the end result was worth it. My nails were super shiny and truly felt like a gel manicure. Luckily, my nails are naturally thick and I keep them short so they mimic a gel too. I love feeling my nails- when they aren’t polished or they’re chipped I feel ungroomed. There’s something about a fresh manicure that stays fresh for days.

That’s why I’m thrilled to share my manicure didn’t chip for over 6 days (!!). The edges chipped a bit first (Day 7) and then they peeled a bit but a manicure that stays pristine for one week is my kind of manicure. I wash my hands a lot but other than being in water my nails aren’t exposed to chemicals or abused by daily tasks.

My nails grow very quickly so even without chipping a gap starts to form between the polish and my cuticles after a week.

The colors are gorgeous. The red (Vendetta) is the perfect red nail polish- rich but not too deep or dark. Just bright enough without being neon. It’s the kind of red you don’t get sick of because it’s such a classic.

I love the substantial feel of the base, color and top together.

All of Londontown Lakurs (nail polishes) are beautiful. I am drooling over several unique colors right now. From sparkles to purple to an icy blue, they have a wide range of colors to tickle your fancy.

I was thrilled none of them bubble or are a struggle to use.

The 2-in-1 Hand & Nail Treatment has an interesting consistency. It pumps out like a thick gel then rubs in easily. I’ll be honest- I didn’t read the instructions which tell you to use it like a daily hand treatment so I told my manicurist to use it as cuticle oil. It worked out well, ironically.

My skin feels so soft and nourished after massaging it in. It has a very pleasing light scent my manicurist kept sniffing. Even I liked it despite the fact I’m sensitive to scents. After pumping it out, I barely smelled it.

I’ve had a lot of hit and misses when it comes to nail care, especially because I prefer to be manicured 24/7. This is definitely a hit. I’m turned on to Londontown and bring my stash to every salon.

The only thing I’d love to change is the dry time- I’ve used other similar top coats that dry a bit quicker but if you spend time getting your nails done (or doing them yourself) you owe it to the manicure to let it dry until it’s DRY. I’m very impatient and hate spinning around in my chair at the dryer. I prefer a manicure that’s dry in 10 minutes, but I’m really just pulling strings.

If you’re impatient like me, they have a quick drying oil.

Would I Buy Again?

Full disclosure: all of these Londontown products were sent to me for review, so I didn’t buy them myself. That said, I would definitely invest in more Londontown polishes and once the base and top coat run out I would buy them too. The 2-in-1 Hand & Nail Treatment pleasantly surprised me. I usually just bring Argan or Jojoba oil to the nail salon but love how the treatment performed. If you’re in the market for a reliable and high end nail care kit Londontown is the way to go.
